Compliments of David’s Restaurants

Yield: Enough for two

1 Crow, 4-5 lbs—old and fat ones taste best
1 Brick
1 Gallon water
1 Bouquet garni
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Shots best quality bourbon
4 ice cubes

Method of Preparation:

  1. Skin and remove feathers from old crow
  2. Place in large stew pot
  3. Cover crow with water, add brick and bouquet garni
  4. Cover pot and simmer at medium flame for four hours
  5. Remove crow from pot and discard
  6. Discard broth
  7. Check brick for tenderness—if still too hard to slice discard this as well
  8. Place ice cubes in two glasses
  9. Pour bourbon over ice, stir and drink

NOTE:  Crow prepared in this fashion is usually best enjoyed with the offended party.
