Apple Tart Tatin


Yield: 6 tarts



Sugar mix: 
1/2 C White Sugar
1/2 C Brown sugar
1/4 t Cinnamon
dsh Ginger, ground
dash Ground clove
dash nutmeg
dash mace
¼ t salt

2 apples cored and sliced thin, leave peels on
1 sheet of puff pastry

Method of Preparation:

  1. Using a 4” ring cutter -cut puff pastry into  6 circles
  2. Dock pastry with a fork,
  3. Dip shells in sugar mix
  4. Tossed sliced apples in sugar, all at once, to evenly coat with sugar.
  5. Lay out apples in a circle
  6. Dot apples with a small pat of butter and back apples down on a baking sheet
  7. Convection oven 450 degrees for about 7 minutes
  8. Excellent topped with vanilla ice cream – (At David’s we top it with home made cinnamon ginger ice cream
